I am getting married at Walt Disney World. How can I get a castle cake? |
Your Event Manager with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings will have books with beautiful photos from which to select your cake. If you would like one of our castles on your cake, you can just select a cake that features one. Disney buys castles directly from us, so you will not need to order a castle from us.

After my wedding, how can I get my castle cake top home? |
Your choices are to simply carry it by hand (and make sure you are in air-conditioning until you get home) or, if you would like, we can pick it up from Disney's Convention Services, pack it, and ship it home to you. All you would need to do is notify both us and your event manager. Costs vary for shipping, but it must be shipped priority overnight. Packing takes us about an hour and a half and it costs $75.00 for the large castle and $45 for the small castle.

How long will my cake top last? |
If you keep it wrapped in cellophane (to keep out dust and bugs) and in air conditioning, you castle should last at least a year. One of our brides froze her cake top and then brought it out for her first anniversary party, then melted it down and served it as fondue for dipping strawberries.

Can I preserve my cake top as a display piece? |
We had one bride who sprayed hers with shellac or something, but I do not know exactly how to do that or which product to use. If you would like to keep it as a display piece, I would find or have made a glass dome that would fit over the top of it. Or, if you just leave it out in the air conditioning, I had one that held up fine for two years and probably would have lasted longer if I hadn't moved. Just make sure that once it has been sitting out unwrapped, no one tries to eat it.

What else can I do with it after the wedding? |
The very clever Event Managers at Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings invented a great new tradition: much like the "breaking of the glass" in the Jewish ceremony, the two of you make a wish, then break your castle. The pieces are then given to your guests at your reception so they can all share in making your wish come true. We would appreciate hearing from you telling us the creative ideas that you used so we can pass the information on to other brides looking for a great idea.
